Chitika’s Recent Updates and Bonus
Chitika, which is still in beta, has mad a few changes recently that have affected some publishers. While some report an increase or no change at all in CTR many publishers have reported a large CTR drop which, of coarse, affects the publishers overall income or revenue. In my opinion, …
Break Out of a Frame on Page Load

Does someone link to your site from inside a frame and now your site ends up inside of their page’s frame? Do you get a lot of referrals from search engine image searches and get stuck in their frame too? Me too, I have a little of both actually and I wanted a way for my site’s pages to load in their own frame automatically or “break out of the frame” while the page initially loads for the visitor without them doing anything themselves. Thankfully, I found that this is quite simple to do all you need to do is add the below code to your BODY tag.
Code to add
onLoad="if (self != top) top.location = self.location"
Place code in your body tag. Like this:
body onLoad="if (self != top) top.location = self.location"
Introducing Google Analytics

Guess what webmasters? Google wants you to attract more of the traffic you are looking for, and help you turn more visitors into customers. And even better it’s free!
What is Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is a free full-featured powerful set of statistics and reports that will help you understand various things about your sites visitors. There are over 80 different reports available to track your visitors.
- How a visitor found your site
- What pages they visited
- Identify common exit pages
- Identify navigation bottlenecks
- How you can make their visit better
- Drive targeted traffic
- Improve conversion rates and increase your sites profit (increase ROI)
- Track performance of AdWords Campaigns, Email Campaigns and various other marketing campaigns
- Track Keywords and SEO efforts
- Can be integrated with your AdWords if you have one
Are you sure it’s free?
Yep it’s free. Google recently bought out a program called Urchin. They are now offering this same or similar service, which others have stated cost quite a pretty penny to use($200 a month), for free for those who have up to 5 Million page views per month(per account) or if you are an active AdWords user with a campaign in good standing you will be provided this service free without any page view limitations.
I found the Google Analyticssign up process quite simple as I just signed up myself (I already had a google login). I have the code set up on several sites and am no waiting for the reports to start coming back!

Great news! I just made my daily check of my Chitika statistics and guess what the reports have been updated and now include channel reporting.
Finally a way to track your individual pages, ads, and keywords. I am really looking forward to looking into more detailed reports and see which ads are converting and which ones are not.
If you have not added the channel to your Chitikacode this is what you will need to add. Replace “XXXX” with your unique channel ID name
ch_sid = 'XXXX';
